ALCOTEXA was founded in 1932 as an association for actors trading and exporting Egyptian cotton. It is a non-profit making and non-trading organization exclusively concerned with exporting Egyptian lint cotton.

ALCOTEXA is formed of individuals and companies working in the cotton-exporting sector.
Exclusive Mandate
Only ALCOTEXA's member companies are allowed to export Egyptian cotton. It has its moral entity, and its head office is situated in Alexandria, Egypt.

The Discovery
Louis Alexis Jumel discovered an extraordinary cotton variety in Cairo, inspiring a vision that laid the foundation for Egypt's world-famous cotton industry.
1820–1827
