ABOUT ALCOTEXA
Developing Cotton Trade and Protecting the Egyptian Cotton Legacy
Our Strategic Aims
Standardization
The aim of our association is to develop cotton trade among exporters, importers, spinners and other stakeholders inside or outside the country. Every export-selling contract must be registered with ALCOTEXA approval, and every season the association announces cotton Export Selling Conditions for Egyptian cotton varieties and follows up on contract execution. In conjunction with registering the contracts, we minutely follow up the contract execution, offering in accordance with the service of Arbitration & Mediation.
Arbitration & Ethics
In partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, ALCOTEXA owns the Egyptian cotton trademark. Cotton Egypt Association (CEA) is the only entity authorized by us to manage the trademark Egyptian Cotton Logo™, which has been introduced to the international cotton industry as a mark of quality, in order to raise customers' awareness of distinguishing between products made out of 100% Egyptian cotton and other products.
Global Promotion
CEA is responsible for managing the license accrediting process for firms, either local or non-local, in order to permit the use of the trademark for products (100% made by Egyptian cotton) labeling. ALCOTEXA is a member of CICCA (Committee for International Co-operation between Cotton Associations)
